Example of Living Sacrifice - John 12:3

3Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

Mary quite literally offered her body as a living sacrifice. When you read this passage does it touch your heart, or is your heart closer to those around her who looked upon her with scorn?

When I was a kid (with Atheist father and Catholic mother) I never got this. I was always wondering why she used her hair and not a rag or towel and washing someone's feet - (me as preteen "eww") - was something I just couldn't comprehend. Now, knowing it was such a humbling act when Jesus washed his followers' feet and to understand His sacrifice for us I'd wash His feet with my hair...

Exactly. I think she really felt acutely how much she was forgiven, and perhaps by whom she was forgiven.
Thank you for your comment.

I always felt she knew that she was annointing him for his death. Women have intuition about these things.
